SEMyS was created to boost the growth of the microelectronics and semiconductors industry in Spain and to make our country one of the European benchmarks in chip design and supply.
SEMyS was created to boost the growth of the microelectronics and semiconductors industry in Spain and to make our country one of the European benchmarks in chip design and supply.
This is a key sector for Spain’s present and future, and also for the European Union, which seeks to reinforce strategic autonomy in chips, to reduce dependence on current players and in favor of the rebalancing of value chains.
Semiconductor sales in the European market reached a record $53.809 billion in 2022 (up 12.3%), according to ESIA.
Given the geostrategic importance of these silicon parts, the exponential increase in demand and its economic impact on the digital society, it is essential to grow and innovate in this area. A task that, due to its difficulty and high investment, requires public-private collaboration/cooperation.
